Cancellation of the 2026 FAI F3J World Championships for model aeroplanes, seniors and juniors

To date, seven nations have expressed interest in participating in the 2026 F3J World Championships. Eight nations are required to hold a world championship. For us as organisers, this is not feasible. As we now have to sign the final contracts and will incur costs for the site and hall with immediate effect, the financial risk is too great for us. We do not want to risk our association's existing capital on this project.
For this reason, we will cancel the 2026 FAI F3J World Championships for Model Gliders, Senior and Junior.
We are sorry, but the risk is simply too great for us and, considering the work done by the committee, I am very saddened as president; indeed, I am in tears.
